Job summary

Mission Critical Group in the United States is seeking a Senior Staff Accountant to join the Finance team. You will ensure accuracy and integrity of financial statements, perform complex reconciliations, and support month-end and year-end close processes.

The role includes maintaining the General Ledger under GAAP, preparing reconciliations, supporting audits, and collaborating with other departments on financial information.

Responsibilities

• Execute the month-end and year-end close processes, including preparing and posting complex journal entries, accruals, and deferrals.
• Maintain the General Ledger, ensuring all transactions are accurately classified and recorded in accordance with GAAP.
• Prepare detailed account reconciliations for critical balance sheet accounts (e.g., cash, fixed assets, accrued liabilities, and intercompany transactions).
• Assist in the preparation of internal and external financial reports and schedules; support annual external audits.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls (SOX if applicable) and company accounting policies.
• Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for process improvement.
• Manage and maintain the Fixed Asset Register, including tracking additions, disposals, and calculating monthly depreciation.
• Collaborate with various departments to gather necessary financial information and address accounting inquiries.
• May assist with specialized areas such as revenue recognition, inventory, or payroll accounting.

Summary: The Senior Staff Accountant is a key member of the Finance team, responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the company’s financial statements.
