Job summary

ALIYA Healthcare Consulting is seeking a Senior Staff Accountant to join our finance team. You will maintain financial integrity, support month-end and year-end close, prepare statements, ensure regulatory compliance, and help improve processes across the accounting function.

The role offers exposure to leadership, collaboration across departments, and opportunities to influence financial reporting and operational initiatives within a growing healthcare organization.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in healthcare, consulting, or multi-entity environments.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP.
• Experience with financial statement preparation and account reconciliations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software systems.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, analyze, and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
• Perform month-end and year-end closing activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals.
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts and supporting schedules.
• Assist with annual audits and regulatory reporting requirements.
• Prepare and analyze financial reports to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
• Collaborate with department leaders to address financial issues and improve processes.
• Assist in developing and implementing accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Mentor junior accounting staff and provide guidance on accounting best practices as needed.
