Job summary

Jobot in Seattle is seeking a dynamic Senior Staff Accountant to join our high-growth aerospace-leader team. You will prepare financial statements, manage monthly close, reconciliations, and support A/R/A/P, with potential to grow into an Assistant Controller role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; Master’s or CPA preferred.
• 3-5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in manufacturing.
• Proven experience with SOX and strong GAAP knowledge.
• Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Baan, or Infor.
• Experience assisting in A/R and A/P transactions.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for presenting financial information.
• Cost accounting activities including standard cost analysis, inventory, Capex and fixed assets.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and present accurate, timely financial reports to senior management.
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations and SOX standards.
• Serve as back-up for accounts payable and receivable.
• Assist with annual operating plan and financial forecasts.
• Manage monthly close, journal entries, reconciliations, and control reviews.
• Collaborate with departments to develop financial strategies.
• Assist with audits and coordinate with external auditors.

Job Details

We are seeking a dynamic and highly-motivated Senior Staff Accountant to join our team. You will be preparing financial statements, managing monthly close process, accountant reconciliations, financial reporting analysis, and supporting A/R and A/P transactions. This role has great potential to grow into the Assistant Controller / Controller role for the right person!

Responsibilities

• 1. Preparing and presenting accurate and timely financial reports to senior management.
• 2. Ensuring compliance with all financial regulations and standards, including SOX.
• 3. Acting as back up in support for the company's accounts payable and receivable.
• 4. Assisting with the creation of the annual operating plan (AOP) and financial forecasts.
• 5. Manage monthly close process including preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, financial reporting and analysis, and review of control activities.
• 6. Collaborating with other departments to develop and implement financial strategies.
• 7. Assisting with financial audits, and coordinating with external auditors as necessary.

Qualifications

• 1. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required. A Master’s degree or CPA certification is preferred.
• 2. A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the Manufacturing industry.
• 3. Proven experience with SOX. Strong knowledge of GAAP.
• 4. Extensive knowledge of accounting software such as QuickBooks, Baan, or Infor will be a plus.
• 5. Experience assisting in A/R and A/P transactions will be a plus.
• 6. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present financial information in a clear and concise manner.
• 7. Manage cost accounting activities including standard cost analysis and rollover, inventory count and reserve analysis, Capex and fixed assets activities recording.
