Jobot in Seattle is seeking a dynamic Senior Staff Accountant to join our team. You will prepare financial statements, manage the monthly close, perform reconciliations, and support A/R and A/P transactions with a clear path to Assistant Controller.

This role requires SOX and GAAP proficiency, collaboration with leadership on forecasts, and ERP experience (QuickBooks, Baan, Infor) is a plus. A CPA or master's is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; Master’s/ CPA preferred
• 3–5 years of experience in a similar role, manufacturing background preferred
• Proven SOX experience; strong GAAP knowledge
• Experience with accounting software: QuickBooks, Baan, or Infor a plus
• Experience supporting A/R and A/P transactions welcome

Responsibilities

• Back up accounts payable and receivable processes
• Assist with annual operating plan (AOP) and financial forecasts

Job Details

We are seeking a dynamic and highly‑motivated Senior Staff Accountant to join our team. You will be preparing financial statements, managing monthly close process, accountant reconciliations, financial reporting analysis, and supporting A/R and A/P transactions. This role has great potential to grow into the Assistant Controller / Controller role for the right person!

Responsibilities

• Preparing and presenting accurate and timely financial reports to senior management.
• Ensuring compliance with all financial regulations and standards, including SOX.
• Acting as back up in support for the company's accounts payable and receivable.
• Assisting with the creation of the annual operating plan (AOP) and financial forecasts.
• Manage monthly close process including preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, financial reporting and analysis, and review of control activities.
• Collaborating with other departments to develop and implement financial strategies.
• Assisting with financial audits, and coordinating with external auditors as necessary.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required. A Master’s degree or CPA certification is preferred.
• A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the Manufacturing industry.
• Proven experience with SOX. Strong knowledge of GAAP.
• Extensive knowledge of accounting software such as QuickBooks, Baan, or Infor will be a plus.
• Experience assisting in A/R and A/P transactions will be a plus.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present financial information in a clear and concise manner.
• Manage cost accounting activities including standard cost analysis and rollover, inventory count and reserve analysis, Capex and fixed assets activities recording.
