We are looking for an amazing Senior Staff Accountant to fill this role, which is based in our Doral office. This position is responsible for overseeing the recording, analyzing, and reporting of Princess Cruise Line Compensation and Benefits for both Shipboard and Shoreside personnel. Position to be filled by highly motivated individual who is devoted to accuracy, completeness, and compliance. This incumbent will need to communicate effectively with individuals at all levels of the company. Work will require persistent and effective follow-up. Individual will need to be detail oriented to always ensure accuracy of work.

Responsibilities

  • Participates in month-end financial close activities including analysis for journal entry preparation, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Provide timely reconciliation of balance sheet accounts and supporting documentation with focus on operational efficiencies and GAAP compliance monthly.
  • Monitors and processes workflows/systems to provide accurate and timely output, with focus on increased efficiencies and awareness of adequate controls.
  • Makes recommendations for process improvement.
  • Interact with both internal & external auditors and respond to requests in a timely manner
  • Conduct variance analysis on relevant balance sheet and income statement accounts
  • Develops new desktop procedures and maintains current desk-top procedures for assigned responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting (preferred) and/or Finance (acceptable)
  • Minimum 3-5 years of accounting experience
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to multitask

  • This role supports the financial integrity of Princess Cruise Line’s compensation and benefits accounting. It ensures accurate reporting and compliance for both shipboard and shoreside personnel. The position interacts across departments and levels, contributing to operational efficiency and financial accuracy.
  • The role requires complex analysis of financial data, reconciliation of accounts, and variance analysis. It involves identifying discrepancies, ensuring GAAP compliance, and recommending process improvements, often under tight deadlines.
  • This position directly supports the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting related to compensation and benefits. It contributes to compliance, audit readiness, and operational efficiency, impacting both shoreside and shipboard financial operations.
  • While the role does not have direct reports, it requires leadership in managing processes, collaborating across departments, and supporting audits. The individual must be proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently and within teams.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Princess is unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of employment visas at this time (e.g., H-1B status).

This position is considered Hybrid and follows the Company’s schedule of three days in the office per week (Tuesday – Thursday).
