Job summary

Four Seasons Fort Lauderdale seeks a Staff Accountant to maintain the general ledger, perform month-end close, and support the Finance Department under the Director of Finance. You will prepare financial statements, balance-sheet reconciliations, accruals and journal entries in accordance with GAAP.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance; 2–5 years finance management experience.
• Luxury hotel/resort experience preferred.
• Knowledge of GAAP and financial statement preparation.
• USALI knowledge strongly preferred.
• Strong time-management and multi-tasking abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain general ledger and prepare financial statements.

Role Overview

The Staff Accountant is responsible for maintaining the general ledger, balance‑sheet reconciliations, and supervising other areas within the Finance Department under the direction of the Director of Finance. The role requires an excellent understanding of the month‑end process, including preparation of financial statements, accruals, and journal entries, and maintaining reconciliations for all balance‑sheet accounts in established corporate formats in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles. This hotel has a residential component; prior experience in a mixed‑use residential hotel is preferred.

What You Bring

• College degree in Finance required (major in Accounting or Finance). 2–5 years of finance management experience, preferably in a luxury hotel or resort.
• Excellent personal presentation and interpersonal skills. Proven leadership experience.
• Working technical knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and job knowledge of all positions in Accounting, Purchasing and Food and Beverage control. Understanding of USALI.
• Strong time‑management skills: ability to multi‑task, set priorities, and adjust to changing conditions. Strategic, analytical, and solid business acumen.
• Ability to operate all computer equipment necessary to perform the job; knowledge of Excel and Opera systems is ideal.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work closely with other departments and communicate clearly and effectively with colleagues and guests.
