Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
• 2+ years of public accounting experience.
• Strong GAAP and full-cycle GL accounting knowledge.
• Experience with financial statement prep, journal entries, reconciliations, P&L, balance sheets, and trial balances.
• Ability to independently manage responsibilities with ownership.

Senior Staff Accountant - Public Accounting

About the Opportunity

An established and growing CPA firm is seeking a Senior Staff Accountant to join its team. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional with public accounting experience who enjoys working in a collaborative, client-focused environment and wants to continue developing their technical accounting skills.

The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in GAAP and general ledger accounting, takes ownership of their work, and is comfortable working directly with clients or developing into a more client-facing role.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain general ledger accounts, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
• Assist with the preparation and review of financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and trial balances.
• Perform month-end and year-end closing activities.
• Ensure financial records are accurate, complete, and maintained in accordance with GAAP.
• Analyze financial information and identify discrepancies or areas requiring additional attention.
• Manage assigned client accounts and maintain accurate, organized financial records.
• Communicate with clients to gather financial information, address questions, and provide accounting support.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure timely and accurate completion of client engagements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
