Job summary

PMAT Inc. is seeking an SSDS Senior Legacy Maintenance Technician to support U.S. Navy Ship Self Defense System legacy configurations at Wallops Island, VA. You will assess performance, troubleshoot faults, and perform corrective and preventive maintenance to ensure readiness for mission requirements.

Ideal candidates have a decade of hands-on SSDS experience, strong maintenance discipline, and excellent communication with government and engineering teams in a defense environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of ten years of hands-on maintenance experience on SSDS legacy systems.
• Experience with documented organizational‑level maintenance is required.
• Ability to follow technical manuals and maintenance procedures precisely.
• Demonstrated ability to document actions, discrepancies, and corrective actions.
• Experience in DoD or U.S. Navy technical environments is preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication with diverse teams.

Responsibilities

• Perform corrective and preventive maintenance on SSDS legacy systems and equipment.
• Diagnose, isolate, and resolve hardware, software, and system faults.
• Monitor operation of SSDS legacy configurations and document status.
• Conduct documented maintenance per procedures and safety standards.
• Collaborate with government personnel, engineers, and operators to resolve issues.
• Support operational checks and testing after maintenance activities.
• Maintain compliance with safety, security, quality, and configuration control.
