Job summary

SpaceX in Redmond, WA is seeking a Sr. Site Reliability Engineer (STARSHIELD) to help design and operate secure, scalable software and infrastructure for government-focused missions.

You will own automation, deployment pipelines, and incident response across on‑prem and cloud environments. The role emphasizes collaboration with software teams, strong Linux and Kubernetes expertise, and a willingness to obtain required security clearances.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/IT or engineering with 5+ years Linux/SRE experience.
• 5+ years Kubernetes experience.
• Experience with Bash, Python, or similar scripting.
• Active Top Secret/DOE clearance or ability to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Develop automation to deploy and manage compute resources on‑premises and in the cloud.
• Deploy and manage core infrastructure such as databases, monitoring and storage.
• Collaborate with software engineers to create highly scalable, operable and maintainable products.
• Engage in and improve the whole lifecycle of services -- from inception and design, through deployment, operation and refinement
