Job summary

SpaceX’s Starshield program seeks a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to design and implement scalable, secure infrastructure for government-focused space systems. The role covers automation, cloud/on-prem resources, and reliable service lifecycles, with opportunities to influence critical national security missions.

The ideal candidate has extensive Linux, Kubernetes, and scripting experience, plus the ability to collaborate with developers and manage complex systems. Clearance is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems/IT, or an engineering discipline.
• 5+ years of professional experience with Linux operating systems.
• 5+ years of experience with Kubernetes.

Responsibilities

• Develop automation to deploy and manage compute resources both on-premises and in the cloud.
• Deploy and manage core infrastructure such as databases, monitoring and storage.
• Collaborate with software engineers to create scalable, operable and maintainable products.
• Engage in and improve the whole lifecycle of services from inception to deployment and operation.
