Job summary

SAP SE is seeking a Senior Reliability Engineer (SRE) for the Sovereign Cloud Shared Management Services platform. You will join a global team focused on reliability, security, and scalable operations to ensure uptime and secure platform delivery.

You will drive security as a core reliability concern, contribute to incident response, and mentor engineers across IaC and automation. Collaboration across regions is essential in this role.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in DevOps or SRE engineering.
• 5+ years of experience with leading engineering projects and cross-functional program teams.
• Strong technical understanding of core SRE principles for a globally distributed product.
• Experience with Grafana, Prometheus.
• Background in security or security-adjacent roles with strong security fundamentals.
• Proven track record in end-to-end implementation initiatives.
• Deep understanding of Linux/Unix administration, networking, and large-scale cloud environments.
• Advanced proficiency with IaC and scripting (Ansible, Terraform, Bash, Python, PowerShell).
• Proficiency with access control and authentication; Active Directory is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Drive reliability, security posture, and operational excellence of a critical platform.
• Lead infrastructure hardening, backup validation and disaster recovery drills.
• Define disciplined, standardized operational processes and trade-offs across deployments.
• Collaborate across teams on deployment plans and infrastructure investments.
• Mentor junior engineers in DevOps and SRE best practices.
