Job summary

Early Warning is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer in Chicago to drive reliability, observability, and scalability of production services. You will collaborate with Software Engineering and other tech teams to embed reliability into the lifecycle.

Ideal candidates have 5–8 years in SRE/DevOps, AWS and modern tooling (IaC, Kubernetes, CI/CD), plus strong analytical and collaborative skills. Base pay ranges from $106,000 to $130,000 with incentives and benefits.

Qualifications

5–8 years of professional experience in SRE/Software Engineering.
Experience with software development or scripting languages.
Experience with public cloud technologies, preferably AWS.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.
Knowledge of observability, metrics, logging, and monitoring.

Responsibilities

Use software engineering, automation, and DevOps to improve service reliability.
Define and improve SLIs, SLOs, error budgets, and health metrics.
Improve observability with metrics, logging, tracing, and dashboards.
Lead incident response, troubleshooting, and blameless post-incident reviews.
Reduce toil with reusable patterns and better engineering practices.
