Job summary

JumpCloud seeks a Software Engineer 3 (SRE) to join our Infrastructure & Reliability Engineering team, focused on platform resilience and 24/7 production systems. You will design automation, observability, and reliability standards while reducing toil through code.

As an SRE, you’ll scale cloud-native infra, participate in incident response, and implement best practices across our directory platform and microservices. Strong Python/Go and Kubernetes experience required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional SRE/DevOps or Platform Engineering for 24/7 mission-critical systems.
• Proficiency in Python or Go for SRE tooling, automation, and cloud integrations.
• Kubernetes production experience with cluster operations and GitOps pipelines (Argo CD).
• Infrastructure as Code with Terraform configurations.
• Cloud experience in AWS (EKS, IAM, VPC, Route53, ALB/NLB) or GCP.
• FinOps and cost visibility with dashboards to visualize cloud spend.
• Observability, incident management, and SLI/SLO frameworks with Datadog/PagerDuty.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and maintain reliability, availability, and performance of JumpCloud systems and APIs across multi-cloud environments.
• Operationalize SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets with application teams.
• Build end-to-end observability across microservices and cloud infrastructure (Datadog).
• Implement monitoring for Golden Signals to optimize MTTR and reduce alert fatigue.
• Participate in on-call rotations, incident response, and blameless post-incident reviews.
• Manage production Kubernetes (EKS) clusters and GitOps pipelines (Argo CD).
• Provision secure multi-cloud infra with Terraform and IaC best practices.
• Develop DR dashboards, runbooks, and failover validation tests for RTO/RPO targets.
• Automate tooling with production-grade Python/Go scripts to reduce toil.
