Job summary

Grubhub is seeking a Senior Engineer on the Runtime Automation team to design, automate, and secure our core infrastructure, CI/CD ecosystems. You will work with Docker, IaC (Terraform/Pulumi), and image management to ensure reliability and security in our payment environment.

You will mentor engineers, scale IaC, orchestrate CI/CD via Jenkins and Spinnaker, automate AMIs and Docker lifecycles, and contribute to observability with Vector, Datadog, and Splunk.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership and mentoring for engineers on complex infra.
• Hands-on IaC with Terraform and/or Pulumi for cloud resources.
• Familiarity with Jenkins pipelines and Spinnaker deployments.
• Deep Linux expertise and performance troubleshooting.
• Automation with Python and Bash to build internal tools.

Responsibilities

• Define architectural direction for platform engineering and CI/CD.
• Mentor mid-level and junior engineers through reviews and coaching.
• Scale IaC to drive reliability and self-service capabilities.
• Own multi-cloud deployment pipelines with Jenkins and Spinnaker.
• Secure and standardize payment environments with strong data protection.
• Automate image lifecycles for AMIs and Docker containers.
