Job summary

Serco is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to enhance reliability, security, and performance of AWS-based apps and infrastructure. You will automate deployments, manage container workloads, and support RHEL systems while improving CI/CD and orchestrations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field.
• 10 years of experience in systems administration, cloud engineering, DevOps, SRE, or related role.
• Active interim or Secret security clearance.
• Active CompTIA Security+ certification.
• Hands-on experience with AWS services and cloud infrastructure.
• Experience with Linux (RHEL preferred).
• Experience with Docker and container orchestration (Kubernetes, EKS, ECS).
• Experience building and managing container images and registries.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation.
• Strong scripting (Python, Bash) and Git skills.
• Networking knowledge (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, load balancers).
• Ability to work across teams and travel ~10%.

Responsibilities

• Serve as senior technical authority for AWS, Linux, containers, CI/CD, automation, and best practices.
• Architect and improve reliability, availability, performance, and security of AWS-hosted apps and infra.
• Design and support containerized apps using Docker, Kubernetes, ECS, and EKS.
• Administer and troubleshoot RHEL servers and services.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code and configuration-management standards.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for build, test, scan, and deploy.
• Design container orchestration platforms and automated deployments.
• Automate provisioning, configuration, deployment, and ops tasks.
• Implement monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability solutions.
• Lead troubleshooting of complex production issues across apps, OS, networks, and infra.
• Participate in incident response and root-cause analyses.
• Automate repetitive tasks to reduce manual effort and risk.
• Integrate security controls and automated testing into CI/CD.
• Develop and maintain runbooks and operating procedures.
• Support patching, vulnerability remediation, and security hardening.
