Job summary

fal - Features & Labels in San Francisco is seeking a seasoned SRE to own the reliability of customer-facing systems, from Kubernetes clusters to deployment pipelines and the networking layer. You will think in SLOs, automate ruthlessly, and treat incidents as opportunities to improve the system.

You will operate Kubernetes infrastructure, build CI/CD pipelines, automate issues, and drive incident response with a focus on speed, reliability, and maintainability.

Qualifications

• 5+ years managing production systems and software development workflows.
• Strong production experience with Kubernetes at scale and IaC (Terraform, Ansible).
• Deep knowledge of Linux networking, container networking (CNI, VXLAN, BGP), DNS.
• Experience building CI/CD systems and GitOps (FluxCD, ArgoCD).
• Proficiency in Python and either Go or Bash for tooling.
• Strong experience with logging, monitoring and alerting (Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, Thanos, VictoriaMetrics, Datadog).
• Excellent communication and ability to drive decisions across teams.
• Self-starter who executes quickly and drives improvement.

Responsibilities

• Own and operate our Kubernetes infrastructure: cluster lifecycle, upgrades, networking, multi-tenant isolation for customer workloads.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and deployment infrastructure.
• Leverage AI to automate analysis and resolution of production issues, improving speed and reliability.
• Build dashboards, alerting, and anomaly detection across systems.
• Define and enforce SLOs and incident response processes.
• Manage and improve networking, load balancing, and service mesh configurations.
• Drive reliability improvements across the stack through automation and runbooks.
