Job summary
Cisco’s Splunk Agent Observability team seeks a Staff Site Reliability Engineer to lead reliability, scalability, and operations for large-scale cloud and on-prem deployments. You will own deployment automation, production readiness, and platform resiliency while mentoring engineers and guiding architecture decisions.
Work is hybrid, with on-site involvement at Cisco offices in SF/SJ or NYC. Strong background in Kubernetes, cloud ecosystems, and CI/CD is essential for driving engineering
Qualifications
- 8+ years’ experience in SRE/Platform/Cloud/Infra engineering or related fields.
- 5+ years’ operating large-scale Kubernetes platforms in production.
- Experience designing highly available, scalable distributed systems.
- Experience with AWS, GCP, or other public clouds.
Responsibilities
- Define and drive the technical roadmap for platform reliability and scalability.
- Lead architecture of deployment platforms for cloud and air-gapped environments.
- Establish SRE standards: SLOs, readiness, capacity, resiliency reviews.
- Drive major reliability initiatives across Kubernetes, deployments, databases, networking.
- Automate to reduce toil and boost productivity.
- Build internal platforms and tooling for reliable scale.
- Lead incident response and long-term remediation through RCA.
