Qualifications

• 7+ years of server database maintenance and administration experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Strong SQL proficiency in query development, data modeling, and performance tuning.
• Hands-on experience administering relational databases, backups, and recoveries.
• XML schemas and XPath/XQuery experience.
• Experience designing SSIS workflows with error handling and logging.
• EF / EF Core experience with LINQ.
• Collaborates with developers, testers, DBAs, and management.
• Familiarity with Agile/SAFe methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Provide support for discovery, schema design, data mapping, migration planning, and cutover.
• Inventory and analyze all XML data sources including XSDs and DTDs.
• Produce a Discovery and Assessment Report on source structures and data constraints.
• Plan and implement a data migration strategy from XML to a relational schema.
• Design a normalized relational schema and map XML hierarchies to tables and keys.
• Provide an ERD and a Data Dictionary detailing the target schema.
• Develop ETL routines using T-SQL with XPath/XQuery or XML parsers.
• Create and maintain an audit log of migrated and unmigrated records.
• Track migration dates and perform unit tests for data verification.
• Generate and deliver migration scripts and pipeline source code with audit logging.
• Plan production migration with Runbook and rollback steps.
• Provide maintenance and migration interval plans for ongoing updates.
