Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology seeks a Sr. Database Administrator to join a team delivering high-end IT solutions to government clients. The role emphasizes large-scale XML data processing, relational schema design, and SSIS-based ETL workflows.

You will lead data migrations, create data mappings, and maintain audit trails to ensure accuracy. Required seven+ years in DB maintenance, strong SQL, XML/XQuery skills, and experience with EF Core and LINQ translation.

Qualifications

• Seven or more years in database administration or similar role.
• Strong SQL proficiency, data modeling, and schema optimization.
• Experience with XML data sources, XSD/DTD, and data migration strategies.
• Experience designing SSIS workflows with error handling and logging.
• Proficiency with EF/EF Core and LINQ-to-SQL translation.

Responsibilities

• Provide support for XML data sources, schemas, and data mapping.
• Plan and execute data migration from XML to normalized relational schema.
• Design ERD and Data Dictionary for target database structures.
• Develop ETL routines using T-SQL with XPath/XQuery.
• Create audit logs and verification checks for migrations.
• Plan Runbooks, rollback steps, and production migration execution.
• Maintain and update migration scripts for ongoing operations.
• Collaborate with developers, testers, and project stakeholders.
