Job summary

Atrium Staffing LLC is seeking an experienced Senior Database Administrator in New York to support enterprise SQL Server environments, ensure performance, security, and high availability for critical business applications.

The role focuses on administration, maintenance, and optimization, collaborating with application, infrastructure, and development teams to troubleshoot production issues and drive database improvements. This contract position runs from Oct 5, 2026 to Apr 1, 2027.

Qualifications

Experience with SQL Server performance tuning and indexing.
Experience with backup, recovery, replication, and high-availability technologies.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities; effective communicator.

Responsibilities

Administer and maintain Microsoft SQL Server databases.
Monitor database performance, availability, capacity, and storage utilization.
Perform database backups, restorations, and recovery activities.
Conduct disaster recovery testing and database maintenance.
Troubleshoot performance issues, blocking, deadlocks, and data-related incidents.
Implement database upgrades, migrations, and patching activities.
Develop and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and database objects.
Monitor production database health and performance metrics.
Investigate and resolve database incidents and performance alerts.
Support Application teams with database issues and deployments.
Review capacity trends and proactively address database requirements.
Participate in migrations, upgrades, project meetings, and operational improvements.
