Job summary

Quantiphi is seeking an experienced SQL Server Database Administrator (DBA) for our New York trading-application environment. You will manage, optimize, and secure mission-critical SQL Server databases hosted on AWS EC2 with Always On and DR capabilities.

The role requires 7+ years of DBA experience, strong AWS infrastructure knowledge, and a focus on sub-millisecond trading performance. You will collaborate with DevOps and trading architects and participate in on-call rotations.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of SQL Server DBA experience, with strong on-prem/cloud expertise.
• Deep knowledge of AWS EC2 and cloud infrastructure for SQL Server deployments.
• Experience implementing HA/DR for mission-critical trading or high-availability systems.
• Excellent problem-solving, performance tuning, and capacity planning skills.
• Familiarity with security, auditing, and regulatory compliance in finance.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and tune SQL Server performance using Profiler, Extended Events, DMVs, and Query Store.
• Install, configure, and maintain SQL Server (2019/2022) on AWS EC2 environments.
• Design and manage High Availability (Always On, Log Shipping, Mirroring) and DR plans.
• Manage security, roles, permissions, auditing, encryption, and patching.
• Participate in on-call rotation for 24/7 production support.
• Collaborate with DevOps and trading system architects for schema changes.
