Qualifications

• 6+ years of Microsoft SQL Server administration experience.
• Expertise in Always On, Windows Failover Clustering, HA/DR.
• Strong backup, restore, and disaster recovery skills.
• Proficient in SQL performance tuning and troubleshooting.
• Experience with execution plans, Query Store, waits, indexing.
• PowerShell or scripting for automation.
• Familiar with SSIS/SSRS/Power BI.
• Healthcare or regulated environment is a plus.
• Azure exposure is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and manage SQL Server environments across production and non-production.
• Proactively monitor CPU, memory, storage, I/O, DB growth, TempDB, logs, blocking, waits, jobs, backups.
• Perform capacity planning and forecast database, storage, and infrastructure growth.
• Build and maintain database health, performance, and capacity dashboards.
• Install, configure, patch, and upgrade SQL Server environments.
• Manage Always On Availability Groups, Windows Clustering, HA, and DR.
• Validate backup, restore, and disaster recovery procedures.
• Troubleshoot production database issues and perform root cause analysis.
• Tune queries, stored procedures, execution plans, indexing, and performance.
• Use SQL Sentry, SolarWinds DPA, Redgate, Query Store, Extended Events for analysis.
• Maintain indexing strategies and statistics; ensure security and access controls.
• Review code and perform automation for monitoring and maintenance.
• Support SSIS, SSRS, and Power BI where needed.
• Maintain runbooks and operational documentation; mentor juniors.
