Job summary

Programmers is seeking an experienced SQL Server Database Administrator to oversee on-prem and Azure SQL environments supporting critical production workloads. You will manage provisioning, upgrades, backups, monitoring, and security while ensuring high availability and disaster recovery.

The role requires 10+ years in SQL Server, expertise with AlwaysOn/ clustering, log shipping, and performance tuning. You will collaborate with application teams to validate changes and optimize queries.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of SQL Server administration experience.
• Experience with 30+ TB databases and high-transaction workloads.

Responsibilities

• Manage production SQL Server environments, including provisioning, patching, and upgrades.
• Ensure high availability and disaster recovery (AlwaysOn, failover clustering, log shipping).
• Perform backup, restore, and recovery operations.
• Monitor and optimize database performance, queries, and indexing.
