Job summary

ConsultNet Technology Services and Solutions in White Plains is seeking a Senior SQL Server DBA to own performance, integrity, and scalability across on-premises SQL Server and Azure SQL. You will assess an existing environment and optimize it, rather than merely maintaining what exists.

You will monitor bottlenecks, tune queries, design ETL pipelines with Azure Data Factory and SSIS, implement security controls, and manage backups, geo-replication, and high availability.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of SQL Server DBA experience with at least 3 years focused on Azure SQL.
• Strong T-SQL — complex queries, stored procedures, triggers, and views.
• Hands-on Azure Data Factory and/or SSIS experience for ETL pipeline work.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, diagnose, and resolve performance bottlenecks across SQL Server and Azure SQL Database and Managed Instance environments.
• Optimize queries, indexing strategies, execution plans, stored procedures, and database configurations.
• Design, build, and maintain ETL pipelines using Azure Data Factory and SSIS.
• Assess an existing environment and implement proper structure, security, and best practices where they are lacking.
• Manage backup and recovery strategies, geo-replication, failover groups, and high availability configurations.
• Implement and enforce schema-level security, data masking, encryption, and access controls.
• Collaborate with security teams to ensure database security standards are applied correctly.
• Conduct regular performance reporting, capacity planning, and data lifecycle management.

This is a hands-on role where you will own the performance, integrity, and scalability of a critical database environment spanning both on-premises SQL Server and Azure SQL. You will be walking into an existing environment, assessing what's there, and optimizing it the right way — this is not a maintain-what-exists role, it's a fix-and-build role.
