Job summary

Ethics Code seeks a skilled SQL Developer with 5+ years of experience to design, implement, and optimize T-SQL code and reports. You will transform business requirements into reliable SQL solutions, ensure data quality, and support ETL processes in a fully remote setup.

You will collaborate on data integrity initiatives, perform unit testing, and contribute to sprint planning while delivering scalable database solutions across diverse projects.

Qualifications

• Four or more years of practical experience with Microsoft SQL Server and T-SQL.
• Strong expertise in crafting optimized queries, procedures, and scripts.
• Solid understanding of SQL logical query processing, three-valued logic (NULL handling), and inner vs. outer join semantics.
• Experience with stored procedures, triggers, indexing, and query performance enhancement, including execution plan analysis, statistics, sargable predicates, implicit conversions, and parameter sniffing.
• Knowledge of transaction isolation levels, locking, and row versioning (READ COMMITTED SNAPSHOT).
• Proficiency with ERDs and data mapping documents.
• Experience with version control tools such as Git for managing SQL artifacts.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain intricate T-SQL queries, stored procedures, views, and functions.
• Analyze and convert business requirements into efficient, accurate SQL code with proper NULL handling and joins.
• Execute data transformations, cleansing, validation, and enrichment tasks.
• Compose and schedule custom data scripts for insertion, updating, deletion, and movement with transactions.
• Design, generate, and maintain reports using BI tools and validate against source data.
• Engage in code reviews, peer programming, and unit testing cycles.
• Enhance existing queries to improve performance and scalability by analyzing plans and index usage.
• Investigate data issues and assist with data integrity initiatives.
• Administer job automation and support ETL processes as needed.
• Document SQL logic, data dictionaries, and version histories.
• Participate in sprint planning and collaborative solution development.
