Job summary

TECKpert seeks an experienced SQL Developer to support a public school district project in Miami, FL. The role focuses on migrating a legacy Student Information System to the FOCUS platform and owning the full lifecycle of database development, including SQL schema design and SSIS package creation for data integration.

The candidate will work across Microsoft SQL Server and Postgres-based FOCUS systems, ensuring data validation and record integrity. Onsite position with competitive compensation.)

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field; equivalent work experience considered.
• Minimum of 5 years of IT experience as a SQL programmer with database design using MS SQL Server and SSIS.
• Experience writing high-performance SQL queries.
• Experience with DBeaver for database management.
• Working knowledge of Postgres databases.
• Knowledge of DevOps environments and deployment workflows.
• Preferred: knowledge of API development.

Responsibilities

• Own the full lifecycle of database development from design to SSIS package creation for data integration.
• Write high-performance, efficient SQL queries and manage tables/fields with DBeaver.
• Collaborate with development teams and interact with DBAs as needed.
• Read data from FOCUS systems in Postgres and Microsoft environments.
• Perform rigorous data validation to ensure data integrity.
• Support migration of the legacy SIS to the FOCUS platform.
