Job summary

Praescient Analytics seeks a Senior SQL Database Administrator to manage about nine RDMS and twenty databases across five networks for Army Intelligence applications. The role emphasizes security, high availability, and performance tuning within a DoD environment.

Responsibilities include proactive system checks, disaster recovery planning, and extensive documentation. TS/SCI clearance and US citizenship required; on-site at Ft. Belvoir, VA, with full-time employment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years of experience in SQL database administration supporting production environments.
• 5 years of experience installing and configuring Microsoft SQL Server in High Availability Group configurations.
• 5 years of experience with T-SQL scripting (scripts, stored procedures, triggers, views).
• 3 years of experience as a team leader mentoring junior personnel.
• 3 years of experience implementing security measures per DISA STIGs and industry best practices.
• Active TS/SCI clearance (U.S. Citizen) with DoDI 8140.01/IAT II or higher certification.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily system checks and maintain 100% findings tracking in the DCD IT Portal.
• Maintain high availability and data replication across networks (NIPR, SIPR, JWICS, BICES, CENTRIXS-K).
• Apply DISA STIGs within 30 days and enforce least-privileged access.
• Optimize code and stored procedures for fast query responses and aid developers.
• Develop and test backup/recovery plans with monthly integrity testing of backups.
• Create and maintain logical/ER diagrams and SOPs for the environment.
• Respond to outages within 30 minutes and provide on-site support within 2 hours when alerted.
