Job summary

COMSO, Inc. seeks a Senior SQL Database Engineer to design and optimize enterprise databases for mission-critical programs at Fort Meade. You will lead complex data structures, implement cloud-based solutions, and ensure security and performance across multi-level environments.

The role requires TS/SCI clearance with poly, Security+ CE, and 10 years’ DBE experience (or 5 years with a bachelor). You’ll work with a multidisciplinary team on architecture, engineering, and maintenance across the

Qualifications

• Ten years of DBE experience in programs of similar scope and complexity.
• Five years DBE experience may substitute for a bachelor’s degree.
• Expertise in relational and object-oriented database design, development, and implementation.
• Strong knowledge of cloud methodologies, database parsing, and optimization techniques.
• Proven ability to lead database projects through all phases of the development lifecycle.
• Hands-on experience writing and optimizing SQL queries, scripting for automation, and troubleshooting complex database issues.
• Security+ CE.
• Active TS/SCI clearance; polygraph required.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of sophisticated database structures that fit within broader system architectures.
• Drive system improvements through analysis to ensure peak efficiency and alignment with business needs.
• Develop complex systems using queries, scripts, tables, and Cloud methodologies for secure data storage and analysis.
• Write, test, and deploy custom database code (queries, scripts, stored procedures) to address requirements and optimize performance.
• Engage directly with data pipelines, crafting solutions for data flow, integrity, and transformation.
• Collaborate with project leads to translate requirements into practical database solutions from inception through testing.
• Provide hands-on leadership throughout the lifecycle—from database creation to system acceptance—ensuring performance, scalability, and security.
• Balance data volume, user load, distribution, response times, and security controls to ensure smooth operations and integrity.
