Job summary

VLS Systems Inc. is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer to develop and implement advanced cyber defense solutions, focusing on Splunk SIEM.

You will monitor, detect, analyze, and respond to security events while ensuring infrastructure aligns with specifications and is deployed successfully. The role requires strong SPL skills, extensive experience with SIEMs, and ability to develop use cases and playbooks based on threat intelligence.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8+ years of hands-on cybersecurity experience in SIEM or Splunk.
• Proficiency in writing SPL and strong networking/cloud fundamentals.
• Bachelor’s degree in CS/Cybersecurity/IT or related field; security certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Threat detection and monitoring across networks, endpoints, and cloud.
• Manage Splunk correlation searches, alerts, and dashboards.
• Investigate incidents and coordinate remediation with IT and network teams.
• Develop detection and response playbooks using MITRE ATT&CK.
• Onboard new data sources; ensure log integrity and normalization.
• Support audits with SIEM evidence and compliance reports.
