Cynet Systems Inc. is seeking a seasoned Cybersecurity Engineer to support SIEM operations for our clients across the United States.

The role requires 8+ years of hands-on cybersecurity experience, strong threat investigation skills, and proficiency with SIEM platforms, EDR, networks, and cloud security. You will develop detection playbooks, tune alerts, and collaborate with IT and security teams to address incidents while ensuring compliance with MITRE ATT&CK, NIST, HIPAA, and SOC 2 standards.

Qualifications

• At least 8 years of hands-on cybersecurity experience.
• Strong threat investigation and incident response skills.
• Proficiency with SIEM platforms and SPL is required.
• Solid knowledge of networking, firewalls and EDR.
• Familiarity with MITRE ATT&CK and compliance standards (NIST, HIPAA, SOC 2).
• Bachelor's degree in related field.
• Client Core Certified User or Advanced Power User certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor network traffic, endpoint logs, and cloud security events for unusual activity and incidents.
• Build, maintain, and tune SIEM searches, alerts, and dashboards to reduce false positives.
• Investigate suspected security incidents and coordinate with IT and network teams to address threats.
• Create and improve detection and response playbooks using threat intelligence and MITRE ATT&CK.
• Coordinate data onboarding and log normalization across the SIEM platform.
• Gather SIEM control evidence and prepare compliance reports for audits.

Salary: $156,000 - 166,400 per year

Requirements

• At least 8 years of hands-on cybersecurity experience, including operating SIEM platforms and investigating threats.
• Strong critical-thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and manage multiple security tickets.
• Proficiency writing SPL (Client Processing Language).
• Solid knowledge of networking, firewalls, endpoint detection and response (EDR), and at least one cloud platform: AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Familiarity with security frameworks such as MITRE ATT&CK and compliance standards such as NIST, HIPAA, or SOC 2.
• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
• Client Core Certified User or Client Core Certified Advanced Power User certification is highly preferred.
