Job summary

Kaiser Permanente in Santa Rosa, CA, is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist to provide patient-centered therapy under supervision in an inpatient setting. Responsibilities include mentoring staff, delivering in-services, and participating in performance improvement initiatives.

Requirements include California SLP license, ASHA CCC, and at least two years of post-certification experience; BLS and NPI are also required. Per diem schedule with daytime hours.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years experience as a Speech Language Pathologist after attaining your certificate of clinical competence.
• Graduate of an accredited speech language pathology curriculum with a Bachelor, Master or Doctoral degree with certification in Speech Language Pathology or foreign trained equivalent.
• California SLP license required at hire; Basic Life Support; National Provider Identifier; ASHA CCC required at hire.

Responsibilities

• Provides speech therapy services for patients under the direction and supervision of the Director, Assistant Director, and/or Clinical Supervisor or designee.
• Assumes the responsibility as outlined in the Speech Therapists I job summary and responsibilities.
• Provides department in-service as requested by management (e.g., journal club presentation, and/or regular in-service presentation).
• Serves as a clinical instructor as requested by management.
• Assists in orientation and training of employees as needed.
• Provides consultation to staff.
• May act as a mentor for staff.
• May provide input into the clinical competency of staff.
• Identifies process improvement opportunities.
• May assist in the development and implementation of new clinical practice models for the delivery of care.
• Participates in performance improvement projects or other committees as requested by management.
• May monitor the work of contract therapists and the treatment of patients in Kaiser and non-Kaiser facilities.

Education

Graduate of accredited SLP curriculum with Bachelor/Master/Doctoral degree and certification in Speech Language Pathology (or foreign trained equivalent)
