Job summary

Expression is seeking a Systems Engineer (Spectrum SME) to support electromagnetic spectrum engineering, analysis, and management for DoD and government systems at Fort Meade, MD. This role emphasizes analytical evaluation of RF parameters and spectrum compatibility to prevent interference.

You will develop validation criteria, generate technical reports for government stakeholders, and advance spectrum engineering tools and methodologies in a non hands-on capacity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electronics or Electrical Engineering or related STEM field (military experience can waive).
• Experience with military electronics, RF systems, troubleshooting, or electrical systems.
• Strong RF principles, antenna theory, propagation modeling, cellular/wireless system characteristics.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate technical parameters and operational requirements of spectrum-dependent systems.
• Review proposed wireless deployments for potential impact on spectrum-dependent systems.
• Perform RF analysis to assess performance, spectrum compatibility, and interference potential.
• Analyze interference scenarios with commercial wireless and government systems.
• Develop validation criteria and methodologies for spectrum engineering.
• Collaborate with teams to derive and validate system parameters from multiple sources.
• Use engineering and data analysis tools to manage and analyze datasets.
• Record and maintain parametric data of spectrum-dependent systems.
• Generate reports and present findings to government stakeholders.
• Maintain configuration management of technical data and engineering documentation.
• Coordinate with teams to improve spectrum data accuracy and availability.
• Support equipment certifications, system allocations, and spectrum deconfliction.
• Investigate and resolve spectrum compatibility and RF interference issues.
• Contribute to ongoing development of spectrum engineering processes and tools.
• Perform user testing and validation of spectrum engineering software.
