Job summary

UCLA Health is seeking a lead pharmacist to oversee specialty pharmacy operations, manage accreditation (URAC, BOP, ACHC), and ensure regulatory compliance. You will supervise pharmacists and technicians, coordinate patient assessments and refill activities, and drive program expansion.

Reporting to the Director of Pharmacy, you will collaborate with UC system partners and external stakeholders, conduct competency training, and participate in audits and department meetings.

Qualifications

• PharmD degree from an accredited School of Pharmacy.
• Current California Pharmacist licensure.
• Minimum 5 years of outpatient or specialty pharmacy experience.
• Demonstrated experience supervising pharmacists and technicians.
• Strong understanding of specialty pharmacy operations, accreditation requirements, and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Oversee specialty pharmacy operations and regulatory compliance.
• Manage accreditation activities and readiness documentation.
• Complete patient assessments and refill coordination.
• Cross-train staff across specialty pharmacy workflows.
• Conduct competency assessments and ensure trainings/completions.
• Respond to manufacturer and insurance plan audits.
• Collaborate with UC system partners and internal departments to enhance services.
• Support limited distribution medication strategies and payer initiatives.
• Participate in departmental meetings and serve as Administrator-On-Call as needed.
