Job summary

UCLA Health Santa Monica Hospital is seeking a Pharmacy leader to oversee daily clinical pharmacy operations, ensure compliance, and mentor pharmacists and technicians. Reporting to the Director of Pharmacy Services, you will coordinate staffing, performance development, and service delivery.

You will drive medication safety initiatives, formulary management, and collaboration with nursing and medical staff to deliver high-quality pharmaceutical care.

Qualifications

• PharmD from an accredited institution.
• Active California Pharmacist license in good standing.
• Minimum of 3 years of progressive clinical pharmacy experience in a hospital setting (PGY1/PGY2 Administrative Residency completion counts).
• Completion of a PGY1 residency (PGY2 or equivalent experience preferred).
• Strong knowledge of hospital pharmacy operations and regulatory requirements.
• Demonstrated experience in formulary management and medication safety initiatives.
• Effective communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Proven ability to mentor staff, support clinical education, and lead interdisciplinary teams.
• Commitment to safe, cost-effective, and high-quality pharmaceutical care.

Responsibilities

• Supervising and mentoring pharmacists and pharmacy technicians, including performance evaluations, scheduling, and training
• Managing daily clinical pharmacy services and ensuring regulatory and policy compliance
• Participating in and leading interdisciplinary committees focused on medication safety, clinical initiatives, and formulary optimization
• Collaborating with medical and nursing staff to resolve medication issues and align therapeutic strategies
• Overseeing and supporting educational programs such as the pharmacy residency, student training, and preceptor development
• Analyzing medication safety trends and implementing risk-reduction strategies
• Driving continuous improvement in pharmacy operations and clinical service delivery
