Job summary

Piedmont Healthcare in the United States seeks a skilled medical coder to join our team. You will review and code medical records across subspecialties, ensuring accurate ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS assignments while upholding medical necessity.

A GED or high school diploma is required; a coding certificate from an AAPC-accredited program is preferred. Candidates should have at least 3 years of coding experience in Interventional Radiology, Cardiology, EP, or Cardiothoracic coding.

Qualifications

• 3 years of coding experience in Interventional Radiology, Cardiology, EP and Cardiothoracic specialties.
• H.S. Diploma or GED required; coding certificate preferred (AAPC accredited).
• Demonstrated accuracy in ICD-10, CPT and HCPCS with emphasis on medical necessity.

Responsibilities

• Reviews, analyzes, and codes medical record documentation for ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS with specificity.
• Abstracts demographic and coding information into the information system accurately.
• Audits orders and claims prior to submission to minimize denials.
• Provides guidance to physicians and staff in identifying and resolving coding issues.
