Job summary

BNY Mellon in Lake Mary, Florida seeks a Senior Associate to join its private equity team. The role focuses on accounting services for assigned clients and moderately complex funds, including NAV calculations, reporting, and expense allocation, with four days in the office.

You will guide junior staff, review reconciliations and reports, and assess GAAP/IFRS implications of new regulations on fund accounting practices, while maintaining strong client communications and a commitment to process

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent experience.
• 5–7 years total work experience preferred.
• Ability to guide less experienced team members.
• May have people management responsibilities in some geographies.

Responsibilities

• Perform accounting services for assigned clients and moderately complex funds, including NAV, performance, expenses, and reports.
• Drive service improvements, efficiencies, and specialist review for fund/client accounting.
• Provide input into methodologies and review junior staff work.
• Oversee cash and asset reconciliations for complex accounts and resolve issues.
• Draft and review client fund performance reports.
• Interact with clients to answer questions and resolve issues regarding fund reports and processes.
• Evaluate GAAP and IFRS rules to assess regulatory impact on fund accounting practices.

We're seeking a future team member for the role of Senior Associate to join our private equity team. The position is located in Lake Mary, Florida (4days in office expectation).

In this role, you'll make an impact in the following ways:

• Conduct accounting services on behalf of assigned clients and moderately complex funds including determining net asset values, calculating fund performance, allocating expenses, and preparing reports.


• Perform complex Fund/Client Accounting responsibilities in driving Service Improvement plans, targeting efficiencies, enhancing processes, and specialist review functions.


• Provide input into methodologies and review the work of more junior team members.


• Guide and review work related to cash and asset reconciliations for complex accounts or transactions, resolving reconciliation issues for atypical transactions.


• Draft and review reports for clients regarding the performance of complex funds.


• Regularly interact with clients to answer questions and resolve issues regarding fund reports and accounting processes.


• Assist in evaluating GAAP and/or IFRS rules to determine the impact of new regulations on BNY Mellon fund accounting practices.

To be successful in this role, we're seeking the following:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or the equivalent combination of education and experience.


• 5-7 years of total work experience preferred.


• Ability to provide guidance to less experienced team members.


• May have people management responsibilities in some geographies.
