Job Description

Responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining specific environmental, health, and safety (EHS) programs to ensure regulatory and internal compliance, reduce risk, and minimize AbbVie's liability. The role involves assessing risks, creating programs, policies, procedures, assessments, and training materials.

Responsibilities
  1. Align and integrate the EHS strategy with the organization’s mission, goals, and strategies.
  2. Monitor regulatory requirements/trends, conduct impact analyses, and implement compliance programs.
  3. Develop and conduct training courses tailored to learner or business needs.
  4. Make timely decisions based on facts and data, influence others, and negotiate agreements.
  5. Identify and promote process improvements that strengthen EHS functions.
  6. Assess and quantify EHS risks, implement appropriate actions.
  7. Communicate compliance status, KPIs, trends, and business impacts to stakeholders.
  8. Conduct incident investigations, identify root causes, and develop preventive action plans.
  9. Lead or participate in cross-functional teams to meet EHS objectives.

This position requires regular working hours with possible off-hours support as needed.

Qualifications
  1. Bachelor’s Degree in EHS, Engineering, or related field, with 5+ years of experience, or Master’s Degree with 3+ years.
  2. Professional EHS or Engineering certification preferred.
  3. Experience in implementing EHS regulations, incident investigations, and managing cross-functional teams.
  4. Strong planning, policy development, relationship-building, and project management skills.
