Job summary

OpenAI is seeking a Senior Special Programs Security Manager to lead SCI/SAP security operations and serve as CSSO or CPSO for government customers. The role requires active TS clearance, SCI access, and the ability to operate in a highly regulated environment across SF and DC with hybrid work arrangements.

You will mentor security staff, shape security programs, and ensure compliant operations while collaborating with cross-functional teams spanning legal, facilities, IT, and program leadership.

Qualifications

• Active Top Secret eligibility and SCI access.
• Experience leading contractor security for SCI/SAP programs.
• Ability to liaise with government customers and senior stakeholders.
• Strong knowledge of security regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead SCI and SAP security operations across the program lifecycle.
• Serve as CSSO/CPSO or equivalent security official for government customers.
• Build trusted relationships with IC and DOD customers and security officers.
• Oversee accreditation and inspection readiness of SCIFs and SAPFs.
• Translate regulations and customer directions into policies and procedures.
• Coordinate with security, IT, facilities, and legal teams to establish ownership.
• Lead self-inspections, investigations, and corrective actions.
• Advise leadership and represent the security function across programs.
• Mentor security personnel and establish staffing and governance rhythms.
