Job summary

Akima Facilities Operations (AFO) at NASA's Kennedy Space Center seeks a Business Management Senior Manager to oversee day-to-day operations across the Spaceport Infrastructure, Maintenance, and Operations Contract.

You will lead and mentor supervisors and staff, ensure productivity, enforce work standards, maintain safety, and optimize resources while adhering to contract requirements and organizational policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• 15+ years of progressively challenging experience in technical, supervisory, or management roles, including at least 6 years in a lead or supervisory capacity.
• Proven ability to manage large teams and complex operations in a high-paced, compliance-driven environment.
• Strong organizational, planning, and leadership skills with a focus on productivity and operational excellence.
• Demonstrated knowledge of resource management, operational planning, and safety compliance.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily business operations of the SIMO, ensuring adherence to contract requirements, budget, policies, and work standards.
• Formulate and enforce operational policies, work rules, and performance standards.
• Work with outside vendors to maintain necessary business supplies.
• Design and implement procedures to improve contract performance and delivery.
• Manage work schedules and organize employee training.
• Plan and manage the efficient use of materials, resources, and personnel.
• Monitor and evaluate work activities, addressing challenges, and implementing process improvements.
• Lead and mentor a team of supervisors, technical staff, and support personnel.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and enforce safety protocols.
