Job summary

Akima Facilities Operations (AFO) is seeking a Business Management Senior Manager to oversee day-to-day operations of the Spaceport Infrastructure, Maintenance, and Operations Contract at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center. You will lead a cross-functional team, ensure productivity, and drive strategic initiatives while maintaining compliance with contract requirements and organizational policies.

The role requires 15+ years of experience, including leadership roles, and a Secret Clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, management, or a technical discipline.
• 15+ years of progressively challenging experience in technical, supervisory, or management roles, including at least 6 years in a lead or supervisory capacity.
• Proven ability to manage large teams and complex operations in a high-paced, compliance-driven environment.
• Strong organizational, planning, and leadership skills with a focus on productivity and excellence.
• Demonstrated knowledge of resource management, operational planning, and safety compliance.
• Secret Clearance Required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily business operations of SIMO, ensuring adherence to contract requirements, budget, policies, and work standards.
• Formulate and enforce operational policies, work rules, and performance standards to meet mission objectives.
• Coordinate with outside vendors to maintain necessary business supplies.
• Design and implement procedures to improve contract performance and delivery.
• Plan and manage employee training and work schedules for optimal productivity.
• Monitor and evaluate activities, address challenges, and implement improvements.
• Lead and mentor supervisors, technical staff, and support personnel to foster high performance.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and enforce safety protocols.
• Collaborate with program management to align with contract goals and deliverables.
• Prepare and present reports on business performance, resource utilization, and productivity to senior management.
