Job summary

Aegis Aerospace, Inc. is seeking a Senior Loads & Dynamics Engineer to support NASA spaceflight programs at Kennedy Space Center in Merritt Island, Florida.

This role provides technical analysis in structural dynamics, coupled loads, finite element modeling, and modal analysis. The successful candidate will independently assess complex problems, review contractor analyses, identify risks, and provide risk-informed recommendations to NASA engineering leadership.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizen with ability to obtain government clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering from an accredited school.
• 10+ years in loads/structural dynamics or 15+ years for SME; strong aerospace background.
• Experience with dynamic FEA and modal analysis.
• Experience with engineering software and scripting tools (Python/MATLAB/C++).

Responsibilities

• Provide technical insight and independent assessment of loads and structural-dynamics analyses, including methods, models, results, margins, and conclusions.
• Develop, review, and evaluate finite element models for structural-dynamics and loads analyses.
• Perform modal, transient, frequency-response, random-vibration, sine-vibration, shock, and related dynamic analyses.
• Identify critical structural modes, load paths, interfaces, and sensitivities affecting design and verification.
• Review data and support model correlation and validation activities including tests.
• Develop test plans, procedures, acceptance criteria, and test reports.
• Travel as required to support technical reviews and program activities.
