Job summary

Varda Space Industries seeks a Senior Embedded Software Engineer for the Flight Software team. You will determine spacecraft behavior in orbit and develop reliable software from requirements to flight operations, covering bare-metal, RTOS, or Linux environments in C++.

Responsibilities include owning design, testing, integration, and V&V to ensure mission success. On-site in El Segundo, CA with strong emphasis on safety-critical aerospace software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, math, physics, engineering, or equivalent.
• 5+ years in spacecraft or safety-critical software development.
• Experience with real-time embedded hardware/software systems.
• Experience with development in C++ and related language concepts.

Responsibilities

• Develop reliable firmware to control spacecraft, satellite bus, and reentry capsule operations across the mission.
• Own all aspects of software development, from design, testing, and integration.
• Scope projects including requirements capture and initial design trades for open-ended problems.
• Write quality structured bare metal, RTOS, or Linux-based software for embedded processors in C++.
• Build highly reliable and available software systems.
• Ensure system quality and performance through software test, verification, and validation (V&V).
