Job summary

The Boeing Company in El Segundo, CA, is seeking a Senior or Principal Structural & Payload Design Engineer. You will lead Space Vehicle Engineering, driving design, verification, and production support for complex space systems.

Role requires 10+ years in spacecraft design and a BS in engineering with relevant focus. This is an onsite role with relocation support and opportunities to influence program milestones from SRR to IDR.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering with focus in Electrical, Mechanical or Aeronautical.
• 10+ years of spacecraft/satellite system design experience.
• Experience with multi-disciplinary development in space structural/mechanical design.

Responsibilities

• Direct Space Vehicle Design Engineering teams across Structures, Analysis, Thermal, Dynamics, and more.
• Develop CN-RPD plans and ensure execution of requirements, layouts, analysis, and testing.
• Lead system trades to meet vehicle, payload, power, propulsion, and thermal needs.
• Define structural, mechanical, environmental requirements for flight and GSE hardware.
• Lead design/manufacturing integration using DFMAT principles.
• Oversee layout reviews and cross-discipline integration across IPTs.
