Job summary

Capella, an IonQ company, is seeking a seasoned Structural Analyst to refine analysis tools for spacecraft hardware and to advance FEA modeling. You will develop standardized analysis workflows, produce detailed models, and output environments for design and test while collaborating with design, manufacturing, and test teams.

You will be responsible for creating and validating Craig-Bampton models, supporting hardware qualification, and delivering clear technical documentation and presentations

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of structural analysis experience in aerospace or spaceflight hardware.
• Ability to make technically sound decisions under schedule constraints.
• Experience generating and correlating Craig-Bampton reduced-order models.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed structural analyses for spacecraft, payload, and ground support hardware.
• Develop and maintain high-fidelity FE models for static, dynamic, thermal, and nonlinear analyses.
• Generate environments (vibe/shock), acoustic loads, and thermal limits from launch and thermal environments.
• Provide analytical recommendations to support trade studies and decisions.
• Mentor design engineers to improve structures for strength, stiffness, weight, manufacturability, and cost.
• Evaluate structural performance under launch, transportation, and operational environments.
• Prepare structural analysis reports, certification documents, and presentations for internal/external customers.
