Job summary

Rocket Lab in Long Beach, CA is seeking a Senior Spacecraft Structural Analysis Engineer II to contribute to analysis, design validation, and future improvements of Space Systems and Space Components.

You will define loads, perform simulations, guide design, and validate performance with test, supporting the Vehicle Design Director and Space Systems team.

This role requires a Bachelor's in mechanical engineering, 8+ years in aerospace, and an active TS/SCI clearance; US citizenship is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
• Active TS/SCI clearance and US citizenship.
• 8+ years aerospace engineering experience.
• Experience with NX Nastran, NX CAD, and Teamcenter.
• Experience in spacecraft structural test campaign design, execution, data processing, and validation.

Responsibilities

• Define loads and environments for ground tests and flight data.
• Perform structural analyses of primary and secondary vehicle structures (FEM verification/validation).
• Run static, modal, random vibration, buckling, and thermoelastic simulations.
• Collaborate with design and test engineers to iterate concepts and test requirements.
• Support testing of vehicle subsystems and components.
• Lead technical projects within analysis and across teams.
