Rocket Lab's Long Beach, CA-based Space Systems team seeks a Senior Spacecraft Structural Analysis Engineer I to define loads, run finite element analyses, and validate designs for spaceflight hardware. You will collaborate with design and test engineers on concept iteration, test planning, and margins, lead programs as needed, and support senior leadership with technical deliverables.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• Active TS/SCI clearance required.
• U.S. citizenship required due to program requirements.
• 5+ years of aerospace engineering experience.
• Experience with NX Nastran, NX CAD, and Teamcenter.
• Experience in spacecraft-level structural test campaign design, execution, data processing, and validation.

Responsibilities

• Define, process, and interpret static and dynamic ground test data and environmental loads.
• Perform structural analyses and validate FE models; conduct trade studies and mass optimization.
• Run structural and dynamic simulations (static, modal, random vibration, buckling, thermoelastic).
• Collaborate with design and test engineers to iterate concepts and determine test requirements.
• Lead technical projects and programs within analysis and across teams.
• Implement new theory and tools and establish best practices in technical areas.
