Job summary

Spacecraft RF Engineer role in Los Angeles, CA, onsite, full-time, permanent. You will own RF architecture, design boards, run tests and support integration on flight hardware.

We seek a degree in electrical or aerospace engineering and 5+ years of aerospace hardware experience, with strong skills in link budgets, RF subsystems, and hands-on RF test equipment. TS clearance or eligibility is highly valued.

Qualifications

• A degree in electrical engineering, aerospace engineering or similar.
• 5+ years of hands on aerospace hardware experience.
• Strong experience with link budgets and spacecraft communications subsystems.
• Altium, KiCad or similar.
• Oscilloscopes, manual soldering and rework, and RF test equipment.
• Proven experience testing and integrating RF hardware.
• Clean room and ESD experience.
• You must hold, or be willing and eligible to obtain, a US DoD Top Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead RF system architecture, link budget analysis and communications subsystem integration.
• Design and route custom PCBs that interface with other spacecraft subsystems.
• Run EMI/EMC analysis and testing across the whole spacecraft.
• Lead magnetic cleanliness, including dipole modelling, stray field budgeting and hands on magnetic survey testing on flight hardware.
• Make sure designs meet FCC and NTIA requirements.
• Document design processes and test results.
• Guide other engineers on test configurations and grounding.
