Job summary

K2 Space is seeking a highly motivated RF engineer to join our fast-growing spacecraft team in Los Angeles. You will own the RF hardware, including radios, antennas and GNSS links, from design through testing and on-orbit operations, collaborating with RF, FPGA, software, mechanical, and electrical engineers.

In the first year you will fly your systems in space and downlink mission data, then scale to next-generation RF architectures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related STEM field.
• 1+ years of experience in microwave / RF engineering.
• Fundamental RF knowledge including RF link budgets and antenna placement planning.
• Familiarity with Python or MATLAB.
• Experience with RF test equipment such as VNA, spectrum analyzer.

Responsibilities

• Oversee RF systems hardware, including telemetry, command, GNSS radios and antennas.
• Lead design through integration and on-orbit operations.
• Own environmental testing like vibration, shock, thermal testing.
• Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, software engineers and vendors to integrate designs.
• Manage FCC licensing and ground segment compatibility testing.
• Lead vehicle integration and testing for hardware reliability.
