AST SpaceMobile in Midland, Texas seeks a Senior Mechanisms Engineering Technician to lead hands-on build, integration, and test of spacecraft mechanisms and deployment systems in a high‑reliability aerospace environment.

You will mentor junior technicians, work with design and production teams, and ensure quality through precise assembly, inspection, and test activities across assemblies and top‑level structures.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology or related field preferred.
• Equivalent hands-on training or military experience may be considered.

Responsabilités

• Lead assembly and test operations for spacecraft mechanisms and subsystems.
• Build and integrate mechanism sub-assemblies and top-level assemblies.
• Support integration of mechanisms onto spacecraft structures and systems.
• Participate in developmental, qualification and acceptance testing of hardware.
• Perform spacecraft-level inspections and verification during I&T.
• Identify hardware anomalies and escalate for investigation.
• Provide feedback to engineering teams on performance and design improvements.
• Supervise and mentor junior technicians in complex assembly activities.
• Train technicians on proper assembly techniques and quality standards.
• Provide manufacturing and test support during production and verification phases.
