Job summary

Millennium Space Systems, a Boeing Company, seeks an experienced Spacecraft Mechanical Engineer to drive mechanical design challenges and collaborate with engineers to validate designs. You will review designs, develop processes and tools, and train others in their use to advance future mechanical systems.

The role is onsite, requires ASME Y14.5 GD&T knowledge and 12+ years in aerospace, with a path toward technical leadership and mentorship within a fast-paced team.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of technical experience in design and analysis of aerospace hardware.
• Strong engineering fundamentals and knowledge of satellite hardware, qualification methods, and sub-systems.

Responsibilities

• Help set technical direction for the group and beyond.
• Identify and create essential processes, tools, standards, and design guides to build a knowledge-base and set best-practices.
• Support Responsible Engineering Authorities (REAs) to solve technical challenges, identify solutions, and develop verification tests.
• As part of the team’s technical lead engineering group, provide technical guidance to programs on design reviews, customer meetings, failure analysis, and trade studies.
• Audit internal programs and external suppliers to identify industry best practices and opportunities for improvement.
• Serve as a technical mentor for mid-career mechanical engineers.
